I'd read this post today from Under the Sycamore and she pretty much nailed how I'm feeling exactly on the head. I thought I'd share parts of her post along with my own thoughts.
There is one thing my kids ask me to give them more than anything else: my presence. Their biggest want comes in the form of
“Mommy will you…..
play with me,
push me on the swing,
cuddle with me,
tickle me,
help me,
color with me,
watch me.”
It is all too easy for me to be too busy with things that I claim aren’t my priorities while not giving undivided attention to the ones that are my priorities. Just one more email, another load of laundry to fold, dishes to wash, trucks to pick up, floors to vaccuum, tables to paint…there is always something I can give my attention to. My ‘to do’ list grows faster than I can check things off.
I want to do better at giving them my presence….it is what they really want. They want it more than anything I can buy at a store or make with my hands. I think it is the greatest gift I can give them…not because I am a fabulous mom, but because I am their mom. In all my failures, mistakes, screw-ups. In all my home runs, great moments and got it rights. I am their mom. That is enough for them. Isn’t it great to be loved by a child?!
I know I am supposed to be taking it easy, but I also feel like such a crappy mom lately because I'm always so tired and needing to rest so often. Then, on the few spurts of energy I do get I feel like I have to tackle the 50 thousand things that "need to get done before the bedrest starts and the babies come." I can't even tell you how many times I think that in a day! So when I read her post today it was exactly what I needed to hear. Dishes can wait, the laundry will still be there, my house doesn't have to be finished yet, and it's okay to rest because I need it and so do these other two kiddos!
Just a side note...I hit the 30 week mark today!!! Hooray.

30 weeks! Mega milestone!
WOW...You nailed it right on the head. I have been feeling a little down lately because I am not able to GIVE everything my kids want for Christmas this year. Ethan has been struggling with what he wants and I feel like your post is what HE needs!! Thank you so much for that!!!
So so so so so true!!!!
